Faculty Development Programme at Saint Francis Sales Pre-University College, Hebbagodi
A one-day Faculty Development Programme was successfully organized at SFS College,
Hebbagodi on 25th May 2026 to enhance the pedagogical and professional capacities of the
teaching fraternity.
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries,
symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the pursuit of knowledge. This was followed by a
prayer to seek God’s blessings for a fruitful session.
The occasion was graced by the Education Councilor of South India, West Province, Rev. Fr.
Benny, Outgoing CCO, Dr. Sam, Present CCO, Mr. Rajnikant and the Principal of S.F.S. P.U.
College, Rev. Fr. Staney. As a mark of respect and gratitude, the Academic Co-ordinator and
the Heads of the Departments of Science, Commerce, and Humanities felicitated the dignitaries
by presenting them with saplings, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to growth and
sustainability.
Rev. Fr. Benny addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech, encouraging the faculty to
uphold the values of dedication, service, and continuous learning in their profession.
The core training session was conducted by Mr. Rajnikant, who spoke extensively on career
coaching for educators. He trained the teachers on effectively tackling academic, psychological,
emotional, behavioural, social, technological, and lifestyle challenges faced by lecturers using
the CLEAR ideology – Contact, Listen, Explore, Action, and Review.
He also highlighted practical and effective classroom strategies such as pause and pivot, turn to
the class, agree to disagree and private conversation. He emphasized the inclusion of interactive
teaching methods to foster student engagement and a positive learning environment. The
session concluded with an interactive Question and Answer round, where lecturers clarified
their doubts and gained practical insights.
Furthermore, Dr. Sam addressed the faculty on the fair teacher appraisal process that will be
implemented across all branches of the institute, ensuring transparency and consistency in
evaluation.
The programme concluded with a humble vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries,
resource persons and all participants for their presence and cooperation.
Overall, the FDP proved to be highly beneficial and enlightening. The faculty members were
grateful to the management for organizing such programmes, which help them improve
professionally in a positive and meaningful way. All the lecturers left the venue motivated,
encouraged, and with renewed spirits, equipped with fresh perspectives and strategies to
enhance their teaching practice and student engagement.
