EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO BELUR- HALEBIDU- CHIKMAGALUR

A two-day educational trip to Belur, Halebidu, and Chikmagalur was organized by the
humanities department to provide students with an immersive experience in history,
architecture, and nature. The excursion aimed to enhance their knowledge of Karnataka's
cultural heritage while fostering camaraderie among peers and faculty.
The journey began early on 16th November, with students and faculty departing from
campus via bus. Students were taken to Shravanabelagola, which is known for its gigantic
Bahubali statue. The students then visited the Hoysaleswara Temple at Halebidu and
Chennakeshava Temple in Belur, known for its intricate architecture, the temples offered a
glimpse into Karnataka’s glorious past. The day ended with a campfire.
The second day commenced with a scenic drive to Chikkamagalur, a hill station renowned
for its coffee plantations and serene landscapes.
The group explored the Mullayanagiri Peak, the highest point in Karnataka, which offered
breath-taking views and an opportunity for some light trekking. Students also got a chance
to visit Bababudangiri and a view point amidst the majestic mountains of Chikkamagalur.
The trip was a resounding success, blending education and recreation in a balanced manner.
It not only expanded the students' academic horizons but also allowed them to unwind in
the lap of nature. Special thanks are extended to the principal, organizing committee,
faculty coordinators, and student volunteers for their efforts in ensuring the smooth
execution of the trip.
The trip concluded with a return journey to the college. Students shared their reflections
and experiences during the ride, making the journey memorable.
